Valmiermuižas alus

In the shadow of the tower of the old Valmiermuiža manor, on the edge of Valmiera, this brewery founded in 2009 has made slowness a manifesto: "slow" beers, brewed without haste, matured long and unpasteurised, from the golden gaišais to the tumšais with roasted malts, extending to house kvass and lemonades. The experience is built for the visitor: guided tours among Latvia's most popular, an adjoining beer kitchen marrying beer with local produce, a garden and seasonal festivities in the spirit of the manor fairs. The essential stop in Vidzeme, between Riga and the Gauja valley.
