Swimming against the hop race, SaltRock has brewed since 2021 in Dunfermline, Scotland's ancient royal capital, ales that put malt back at the centre of the glass: toast, toffee, dried fruit, up to an abbey-inspired golden ale honouring the abbey founded by Queen Margaret in 1070. An independent nanobrewery with unfiltered, unfined, vegan beers, it has climbed among Scotland's best-rated breweries on Untappd — proof that a small kit and a clear idea are enough to leave a mark. Its casks and bottles circulate through the real ale pubs of Fife and beyond.
