Lerwick Brewing Company

The UK's most northerly brewery was born in 2012 from three brothers tired of ordinary lagers. Tucked into the heathery hillside on the edge of Lerwick, right on the 60th parallel, it turns a unique climate — mild winters, cool summers, clear Shetland water — into its 60° North Lager, the Skipper's Ticket pale ale honouring the isles' seafaring masters, and the Tushkar Oatmeal Stout. Its taproom holds the only cask handpump in the whole archipelago, with highly rated tours, a shop of Shetland-made gifts, and a venue for gigs and events. A local pride poured in the islands' hotels and pubs.
