About this brewery
In Thebes, city of Oedipus, Cadmus and — above all — Dionysus, born here according to myth, the Microbrewery of Boeotia picked an ancient apothecary's name: IAMA, 'the remedy'. The wink is double, for modern Boeotia, a farming and industrial region crossed at full speed on the Athens–Lamia motorway, suffers an image deficit its beers intend precisely to cure. Poured in the upper town's cafés, steps from the archaeological museum — one of Greece's richest — IAMA's brews give a hopped reason to leave the motorway, between the monastery of Osios Loukas, the Muses' beloved heights of Helicon and the shores of the Gulf of Corinth.
