About this brewery
Chalkida lives to the rhythm of the Euripus strait, a forty-metre channel whose currents reverse several times a day — a phenomenon which, legend says, drove Aristotle himself to despair. On this shore brews Elixi, the local 'elixir', an hour from Athens and at the threshold of Greece's second-largest island. Its craft beers are best enjoyed along the waterfront, where the whole town gathers at sunset facing the sliding bridge, before heading to the beaches of northern Evia or the Dirfys mountains. Together with Septem in the Avlonari countryside, it gives the island a brewing tandem worthy of its rank.
