Burnside Brewery

Founded in 2010 in Laurencekirk, in the fertile plain of the Mearns, Burnside passed in 2018 to Steve, a brewer from St. Louis, and Margo — and has climbed ever since: CAMRA Brewery of the Year for Grampian and the Northern Isles in 2022 and 2023. Beers clarified by time and temperature alone, additive-free and vegan, from blondes to red ales, up to series aged in casks from the neighbouring Fettercairn distillery. Its unexpected speciality: benchmark alcohol-free beers — the SIBA gold-winning Right to Roam IPA and Wayfinder lager — which have become its best-sellers as far afield as Canada.
