Basker Brewing
Basker belongs to the young guard of Vilnius craft: an independent brand working through the styles of the contemporary scene — hop-forward IPAs, fruited sours, craft lagers — with polished artwork and small-batch releases. Belmontas Brewery
Ten minutes from central Vilnius, in the wooded valley of the Vilnia, the old French mill of Belmontas — built in the 19th century — has become a leisure estate where waterfalls, terraces and banquet halls answer one another. Its house brewery keeps the gesture alive: beers brewed on site, golden lagers and malty darks, served in the estate's restaurants beside the cascades. Between weddings, concerts and Sunday lunches, Belmontas offers the most bucolic experience of brewing Vilnius, halfway between Pavilniai Regional Park and Gediminas Tower — a pint to the sound of rushing water.
Būsi Trečias
Its name comes from a Soviet custom: when a bottle was shared three ways, you looked for the third man — "būsi trečias", you'll be the third. This family-run brewpub in old Vilnius keeps the invitation alive: house beers brewed on site, from unfiltered blondes to malty darks, alongside generous Lithuanian cooking — fried garlic rye bread, beetroot soup, potato pancakes. Between the rustic hall with its long wooden tables, the board-game room and the spacious summer garden, the address has become an institution beloved of locals and visitors alike. The capital's classic brewpub experience, no frills and no false notes.
Kuro Aparatūra
Its name intrigues and tells its address: Kuro Aparatūra — "fuel apparatus" — brews on the grounds of Vilnius's former Soviet fuel-injection factory, in the heart of a Naujamiestis in full creative conversion. In this setting of brick and metal, the brewery pours direct, urban craft — IPAs, craft lagers, stouts and seasonal brews — in the taproom beside the tanks, a rallying point for a local scene that has made industrial wastelands its headquarters. A stop that distils the metamorphosis of the Lithuanian capital, where workers' heritage is recycled into beer culture.
Sakiškės Brewery / Dūmų Brewery
Twenty kilometres from Vilnius, in the hamlet of Sakiškės, this brewery blazed the trail of Lithuanian craft: named the country's best brewery and best beer by RateBeer in 2016, and the first in Lithuania to brew with lactic acid when sours were still unknown to the local market. Its experimental register — mezcal-infused imperial blonde, coconut milk stout, passion fruit sours — is best tasted at the source, in the countryside taproom with more than twenty taps and a terrace, or via Dūmų Fabrikas, its sister brand in Vilnius. An easy brewing escape from the capital, between forest and steel tanks.
Vilniaus Alus
Founded in 1999 with the mission of reviving the true culture of Lithuanian beer, Vilniaus Alus has become the capital's largest independent brewery. Its signature: naturally fermented and matured beers, free of additives, where the vitamin-rich yeast is not separated — from classic lagers to wheat beers, dubbels and IPAs, up to Ąžuolas, aged in Canadian whisky barrels, not forgetting traditional kvass. Its network of some thirty brand stores, born in 2009 with "13 Statinių" (13 barrels), spans the country's main cities. The living bridge between Lithuania's brewing heritage and contemporary creation, in the heart of Vilnius.
