About this brewery

Mulgimaa, in the south of Viljandi county, is one of Estonia's most distinctive regions: its own dialect, traditional black dress and the proud legacy of once-prosperous farmers. That heritage is what Mulgi Pruulikoda bottles from its farmstead in Kõvaküla, where the small family brewery makes rural-spirited craft beers, honest and grain-driven, designed to accompany the local table — starting with mulgipuder, the region's emblematic barley-and-bacon porridge. A confidential address to be discovered along the country roads between Viljandi, Karksi-Nuia and the Latvian border, as close as it gets to living Mulgi culture.
