Kykao Handcrafted Brewery

In a village on the edge of Patras, Kykao is an independent co-operative nanobrewery founded by friends who had homebrewed for fifteen years. Its name comes from the kykeon, the psychoactive brew drunk at the climax of the fast of the Eleusinian Mysteries — and the project embraces that heritage: recreating intense, vivid, almost psychedelic beers, up to a Signature Series patiently aged in oak barrels. All within a stated commitment to workplace equality and respect for nature. Tours and tastings run every day, alongside events ranging from meat smoking to live music and technical off-flavour tasting workshops.
