Basanina

Basanina is a family-run craft brewery in Smetlede, in the municipality of Lede, led by brewer Bart De Wolf. Its beers are neither pasteurised nor filtered, referment in the bottle and are fermented with yeast the brewery propagates itself, using raw materials sourced through short supply chains. The range revolves around the Père Glorieux abbey beers (blond, tripel, spéciale, dubbel), the Père Totale quadrupel, awarded double gold at the European Beer Challenge, the Saison du Lucien, a tribute to cyclist Lucien Van Impe, and Smitteletha. The brewery also makes raw-milk beer cheeses. Its tasting room, with a large terrace, opens at weekends, in the middle of a network of walking and cycling routes.
