About this brewery
In a wing of the historic Aldaris site in Sarkandaugava, the Aldara alus darbnīca is Latvia's first beer museum and the most modern in the Baltics. Opened in May 2015 after a restoration of one and a half million euros, it unfolds over three floors and 800 m² the thirteen steps of brewing, the four elements — water, malt, hops, yeast — and a rare treasure: the authentic 1938 brewing hall, preserved intact with its copper vessels. The visit, by prior booking, ends with a tasting of the exclusive beers brewed in the building's other wing. The cultural stop that gives the Latvian beer road its full depth.
