Winterbierfest The Hague 2026: 75 winter beers at the Haagse Biertuin (9th edition)

Right on the Grote Marktstraat, in the middle of The Hague's Christmas-shopping bustle, beer specialist Rootz turns its terrace and cafe-restaurant into an open-air winter beer garden. The ninth Winterbierfest takes place on Friday 27 and Saturday 28 November 2026 at the venue locals call the Haagse Biertuin. Around seventy-five different winter and Christmas beers from a dozen breweries are poured in small tasting glasses, from Dutch bocks and quadrupels to spiced seasonal brews, so you can graze widely without commitment. Fire baskets, winter grills, Christmas trees and live music give the event its cosy glow, and entry is completely free: you simply pay for what you taste. Hours are 4pm to 11pm on Friday and 2pm to 11pm on Saturday, which makes it the perfect warm-up, or reward, for a day of shopping in the city centre, two minutes from the Grote Markt.
