"Greece is far better known for wine and ouzo, but its second city has quietly built one of the country's biggest beer parties. The Thessaloniki Beer Festival returns to the TIF-HELEXPO exhibition grounds from 8 to 11 October 2026, transforming pavilion 16 and its surrounding gardens into a sprawling, Bavarian-style beer hall in the heart of the city.
The organisers promise more than 30 beer kiosks alongside open-air beer gardens, spanning Greek labels, international lagers and Munich-style Oktoberfest classics, so the range runs from familiar pints to specialities worth seeking out. Long shared tables, brass and pop music and steady streams of grilled and hearty food give the four days the communal, boisterous feel the format is famous for.
Held on the fairground right in Thessaloniki, the festival is easy to reach on foot or by bus from the centre and sheltered enough to shrug off early-autumn weather.
