St Albans Beer & Cider Festival 2026 at Alban Arena

St Albans occupies a special place in the story of British real ale, being the town where CAMRA itself has its roots, so it is fitting that its annual beer and cider festival remains a firm favourite. Held at the Alban Arena in the heart of the historic city, the event gathers a wide-ranging cellar of cask ales alongside a well-regarded selection of ciders and perries. The 2026 edition is planned for Wednesday 23 to Saturday 26 September, offering several sessions across the days so visitors can choose a lunchtime tasting or a livelier evening. Organised by South Hertfordshire CAMRA and staffed by volunteers, it balances serious beer choice with an approachable, sociable atmosphere. Newcomers are made welcome and encouraged to explore unfamiliar styles, from pale and hoppy to dark and malty, while food and a friendly crowd keep the mood buoyant.
