Fête de la Bière de Saverne: France's biggest beer fest
27/08/2026 10:00 Place du Général de Gaulle, 67700 Saverne, France
About this event
The largest beer festival in France takes place not in Paris or Lille but in the grounds of an eighteenth-century sandstone palace in northern Alsace. The Fête de la Bière de Saverne, organised by Brasserie Licorne, holds its fifteenth edition from 27 to 30 August 2026 in the Parc du Château des Rohan. Recent editions have drawn close to 49,000 visitors. Proceedings open on Thursday 27 August at 18:00 with the Fassanstich, the ceremonial tapping of the first barrel. Thursday and Friday run from 17:00 to 23:00, with Sunday from 10:00 to 18:00. Music comes from the Licorne Elsasser Band and the Austrian group Fetzentaler, with the schlager singer Robin Leon closing the Friday and Saturday nights. Food stalls run by local associations serve tarte flambée, pretzels and waffles, and alcohol-free options are widely available. More information: https://www.brasserielicorne.com/
