Den Lille Ølfestival: Viborg's Little Beer Festival

Denmark's beer festival calendar is unusually dense for a country of six million, and much of it happens in small rooms rather than exhibition halls. Den Lille Ølfestival, literally the Little Beer Festival, is a good example: it takes place on 1 August 2026 at Ølluminati in Viborg, a bar and bottle shop in central Jutland that has become a fixture of the regional scene. The format is deliberately modest, built around a handful of Danish microbreweries pouring directly to a few hundred visitors rather than a crowd of thousands. For anyone travelling through Jutland at the start of August, it offers something the larger festivals cannot: time to talk to the brewers.
