About this event
In the centre of Chemnitz, Saxony, the Brauereimarkt brings together around forty restaurateurs and breweries every summer for a huge open-air beer market. From 15 to 19 July 2026, over the course of five days, visitors can wander amongst the stalls to sample both well-known German brands, such as Franziskaner and Astra, and creations from lesser-known breweries such as Stonewood and Zwönitzer. The market-square format, typical of Germany’s summer beer festivals, emphasises a convivial atmosphere: visitors can sample beers by the glass as they wander around, pair them with speciality snacks, and soak up the lively atmosphere of the city centre. Accessible and festive, the event appeals to both locals and visitors alike, offering a great insight into Saxony’s diverse beer scene — from regional classics to experimental craft beers. An ideal summer destination for discovering beer culture in eastern Germany. Further information: https://www.beertasting.com/de/news/bierfeste-und-festivals-2026
