Birragoza: Zaragoza's craft beer festival turns thirteen

Birragoza started in 2012, when the craft beer scene in Zaragoza could be counted on one hand. Thirteen editions later it draws around 8,000 people and serves some 6,000 glasses, growth that has stayed deliberate rather than explosive. The 2026 edition takes place on 28 and 29 August, from 12:00 to midnight, and moves to a new setting: the inner courtyard of the Centro de Historias on the plaza de San Agustín, in the old town. Sixteen breweries pour more than 150 different beers, alongside food trucks and live music. Entry to the site is free; tasting requires a festival token costing around six euros, which includes a glass and a first pour. Zaragoza sits halfway between Madrid and Barcelona on the high-speed line, and the Aljafería palace and the basilica of El Pilar are both walkable from the venue.
