Birra d'Augusto: Five Beer-Filled Evenings in Fano

Fano is a Roman town on the Adriatic, named after a temple to Fortuna, and every August its Pincio gardens fill with beer stands. Birra d'Augusto reaches its sixteenth edition from 12 to 16 August 2026, with thirteen breweries and microbreweries from the Marche region and across Italy. Five evenings run from aperitivo hour until the last toast, with live music, street food and games. The centrepiece falls on Saturday 15 August, Ferragosto and Italy's great summer holiday, when the festival stages a Summer Beer Party complete with deckchairs and beach umbrellas. Sunday 16 August brings the second Domus Birrae homebrewing contest, in which amateur brewers submit their beers to a specialist jury and talk about how they got started.
