Berliner Bierfestival: The World's Longest Beer Garden

Few beer events are measured in kilometres rather than square metres. The Internationales Berliner Bierfestival closes 2.2 kilometres of the Karl-Marx-Allee, the monumental socialist-era boulevard in Friedrichshain, and lines it end to end with brewery stands. The result is routinely described as the world's largest beer garden. The 30th edition runs from Friday 7 to Sunday 9 August 2026, between Strausberger Platz and Frankfurter Tor, with over 300 breweries from 85 countries, roughly 2,400 beers and eighteen stages of live music. Up to 800,000 visitors are expected across the three days. Admission is free, which is rare among Berlin's large public festivals; visitors pay only at the beer and food stands, with tasting measures typically from two euros and a deposit glass at the entrance.
