Epirus Brewery (Stala)
Fondée en janvier 2014 par trois amis à Rodotopi, un village à quelques kilomètres de Ioannina, la Zythopoiia Ipeirou est l'unique microbrasserie d'Épire — et elle porte bien son nom de marque, Stala, « la goutte ». Ses ales fraîches, non pasteurisées et refermentées — pale ale, Irish red, cream ale, American IPA à 45 IBU, saison — s'imposent comme la récompense naturelle des marcheurs qui descendent des gorges de Vikos, à moins de vingt-cinq minutes de route : sur Untappd, les randonneurs racontent leur Stala Roussa « bien méritée après quinze kilomètres dans la gorge ». Entre lac Pamvotida, vieille ville ottomane de Ioannina et villages de pierre du Zagori, une adresse essentielle du nord-ouest grec.
Local Heroes Brewing (AKTI)
Nikos Tolis and Giorgos Chalkidis founded Local Heroes Brewing with a stated goal: putting Preveza on the map of Greek brewing. Their fresh beer AKTI — named after the Kyani Akti, the seafront promenade every Prevezan grew up on — sold out its first summers, from the town-centre kiosks to the coastal markets. The first nomad brewer based in southern Epirus, the duo currently brews on partner kit and distributes through its beer locator, with openly stated ambitions to grow. Between the ruins of Nicopolis, founded by Octavian after Actium, and the beaches of Monolithi, AKTI is the gulf's new hopped voice.
