Ölvisholt Brugghús

Iceland Suðurland

About this brewery

In 2007, two farmers in southern Iceland turned an old dairy barn on the Ölvisholt farm near Selfoss into a craft brewery. From the brewhouse you can see the Hekla volcano — the inspiration for the house's most famous beer, Lava, a smoked imperial stout that became one of Iceland's most celebrated exports. Around this landmark flows a range rooted in mythology and terroir: Skjálfti lager, Freyja witbier, Móri red ale and the Skaði farmhouse ale. A rural address that embodies the pioneering spirit of Icelandic craft, among pastures, geothermal springs and lava fields.
