At the foot of the path up Goat Fell, at Cladach near Brodick, Arran Brewery has brewed since 2000 with the mountain water of "Scotland in miniature". This independent twenty-barrel brewery bottles on site a range free of additives and preservatives, entirely vegan in bottle: the multi-award-winning Arran Blonde, the island's citrusy best-seller, the nutty Red Squirrel, and Clyde Puffer, a fireside oatmeal stout. A shop, taproom, house-roasted coffee and daily tours with tastings make it one of the island's essential attractions, minutes from Brodick Castle.
