In Vimmerby, in Kalmar County, Åbro embodies the great Swedish brewing tradition whilst maintaining a clear focus on thirst-quenching lagers and mainstream fermented drinks. The brewmaster's Premium Gold, a 5.7% ABV pilsner, boasts a golden colour, a distinct bitterness and a dry, malty-fruity profile; Rekorderlig Pear is 4.5% ABV and boasts a distinct peary fruitiness; the brewery also produces Original Swedish Cider. The common thread remains clean fermentation, a crisp finish and a well-balanced drinkability, with a creamy head on the Premium Gold and the ciders served very cold.
