Švyturys Brewery / Švyturys BHouse Švyturys — "the lighthouse" — has brewed in Klaipėda, the old Hanseatic Memel, since 1784, when the seafaring merchant Reincke family founded one of Lithuania's oldest breweries there. Now the great ambassador of Lithuanian beer within the Švyturys-Utenos alus group, it pours its classics — the much-awarded golden Ekstra, the wheat-white Baltas — across the country and beyond. Its BHouse, a taproom and experience space set in the historic brewery a stone's throw from the harbour, offers tours, tastings and special brews: the essential stop in the country's only port city, between old town and Curonian Lagoon.
