South-West Finland

Southwest Finland (Varsinais-Suomi) is a region of western Finland, on the Archipelago Sea, bordering Satakunta, Pirkanmaa, Kanta-Häme and Uusimaa. It has about 498,000 inhabitants (Statistics Finland, 2025); its capital is Turku. It includes the Paimio Sanatorium, an Aalto work listed by UNESCO.
