Northern Savo

Northern Savo (Pohjois-Savo) is a landlocked region of eastern Finland, bordering Southern Savo, Central Finland, Northern Ostrobothnia, Kainuu and North Karelia. It has about 249,000 inhabitants (Statistics Finland, 2025); its capital is Kuopio. It includes the Olvi brewery, founded in 1878 in Iisalmi.
