Kainuu
Kainuu is a landlocked region of eastern Finland, bordering Northern Ostrobothnia, Northern Savo, North Karelia and Russia. It has about 69,600 inhabitants (Statistics Finland, 2024); its capital is Kajaani. It includes the Hossa and Hiidenportti national parks.
