The White Horse, Brancaster Staithe

From the A149, the White Horse appears almost as a viewing platform for the tide: road on one side, salt-marsh theatre on the other. It is midway along the north Norfolk coast between Hunstanton and Wells-next-the-Sea, with the last approach straightforward but often slowed by holiday traffic, cyclists and birders. Parking is on site yet can feel under-provided on bright weekends; the coastal bus stops nearby, making it one of the more practical rural inns without a car.
