Maastricht is a municipality and the capital of the province of Limburg in the south of the Netherlands, about 25 km north of Liège. It has around 120,000 inhabitants on 60 km². The Meuse flows through it, and the Basilica of Saint Servatius stands on the Vrijthof square.
