Éragny, in the Val-d'Oise (Île-de-France), lies north-west of Paris, about 28 km from the centre. It has around 18,700 inhabitants on 4.7 km². The Oise runs along its territory; the former presbytery, where the writer Bernardin de Saint-Pierre lived, survives there.
