Aix-en-Provence is a commune in the Bouches-du-Rhône department (Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur, France), a sub-prefecture of around 150,000 inhabitants on 186 km², 30 km north of Marseille. Founded in 122 BC, it has Saint-Sauveur Cathedral; the Montagne Sainte-Victoire (1,011 m) rises to the east.
