Regen is a town in Lower Bavaria and the capital of the Regen district, on the river of the same name. Mentioned in 1148, it received town status on 1 January 1932 and had about 11,000 inhabitants in 2018. The Pfahl, a quartz ridge some 150 km long, rises to over 750 m on its territory.
