Lauf an der Pegnitz is a town in Middle Franconia, Bavaria, and the seat of the Nürnberger Land district. The Pegnitz river flows through its centre from east to west. It received town rights in 1355 under Charles IV and had more than 26,000 inhabitants at the end of 2023.
