On the north-western edge of the Steigerwald, some 18 km south-east of Schweinfurt, Gerolzhofen is the only town in the district (Landkreis) of Schweinfurt, in Lower Franconia, Bavaria. It had about 7,000 inhabitants at the end of 2023 and covers nearly 18 km².
