Furth im Wald is a town in the Upper Palatinate, in the Cham district, on the Czech border at an elevation of 407 m. It had about 8,700 inhabitants at the end of 2024 and covers some 67 km². The Drachenstich, a folk play about a fight against a dragon, was first recorded there in 1590.
