Ellwangen is a town in Baden-Württemberg, in the Ostalbkreis district, about 17 km north of Aalen. The Jagst flows through it from south to north, between the foothills of the Swabian Alb and the Virngrund forest. It had nearly 25,400 inhabitants at the end of 2023 and covers about 127 km².
