Coesfeld is the seat of the district of the same name, in the western Münsterland, in North Rhine-Westphalia. The town comprises two Ortsteile, Coesfeld and Lette, has about 38,200 inhabitants (end of 2025) and covers some 141 km². The centre includes St. Lambert's church and St. Jacob's church.
