In the upper Jona valley, between the Brandegg, the Batzberg and the Bachtel, in the Zürcher Oberland, Wald is a municipality in the Hinwil district. It had about 10,300 inhabitants at the end of 2022 and covers 25.28 km², between 565 m in the Grundtal and over 1,200 m at the Brandegg.
