At the western end of Lake Ägeri, on the Lorze, southeast of the city of Zug, Unterägeri shares the lake with neighbouring Oberägeri. It had about 9,500 inhabitants in 2024, and the lake surface lies at an elevation of 724 m, in the heart of the Ägerital valley.
