Between Lake Lauerz and Lake Lucerne, at the foot of the Grosser and Kleiner Mythen, and capital of the canton of the same name, Schwyz had about 16,500 inhabitants in 2024. Its centre lies at an elevation of 516 m, with Rickenbach, Ibach and Seewen.
