In the Bernese Mittelland, on the border with the canton of Fribourg, Neuenegg had about 5,700 inhabitants in 2024. The municipality covers 21.83 km² and borders Laupen, Mühleberg, Köniz, Ueberstorf, Wünnewil-Flamatt and Bösingen, among others. It passed the 5,000 mark on 1 July 2015.
