At the confluence of the Grande Eau and the Rhône, at the foot of the Vaud Prealps, Aigle is the seat of the district of the same name in the Chablais, and borders Yvorne, Leysin, Ollon, Vouvry and Monthey. It had about 10,900 inhabitants at the end of 2022 and covers 16.41 km², at 415 m.
