Newbarns Brewery

Four friends forged in London's most respected breweries — The Kernel, Siren, Beavertown — came home to Scotland in 2020 to open Newbarns in Leith, with a conviction against the tide: the real challenge is not one-upmanship but the perfect classic. A delicate Table Beer, a silky Oat Lager, a chiselled Pilsner, pale ales and stouts of rare cleanness, on keg and, since 2021, on cask, have made the Jane Street house one of the UK's most acclaimed young breweries, courted for collaborations by the likes of Omnipollo. Its eight-tap taproom, as warm as a neighbourhood pub, has become a pilgrimage of brewing Leith.
